…from the Dawdlers Bistro
Hi, my name is Dan & I’m head cook & bottle washer…
Since being knee-high to a grasshopper, I’ve loved cooking (& eating) outdoors. Summer holidays spent skilfully welding baked beans & sausages onto the inside of an old pan, using a little blue Camping Gaz stove, was just magical for me. Joining the Cubs, the Scouts & then the Army Cadet Force heightened this, but it wasn’t until I joined the British Army, that my passion really ignited. Whether it was holed up in the middle of a soggy training area in Germany, perched on the edge of Monte Grosso in Corsica, or even bobbing up & down on a yacht in the middle of the Baltic, it was always the foodie bit that I loved the most. An adventure simply wasn’t an adventure without good food.
Although it is now a few years since I left the military, my passion for cooking in weird & wonderful places is alive & well.
The Dawdlers Bistro is all about my alfresco adventures & escapades, as I bimble about in woods, fields, mountains & shorelines, knocking-up some great (often locally sourced) food as I go.
